A bar for dogs?! Park 9 Dog Bar

One of our favorite new additions to the Boston area is Park 9 Dog Bar in Everett. Park 9 is an indoor (with an outdoor space), off-leash dog park combined with a bar and it’s a great spot to bring your pup so that you both can socialize. There are two separate off-leash areas (one for all dogs, and one for small dogs), a bar which can be accessed from the off-leash area as well as the on-leash area (lots of seating for when you and your pup need a break from the off-leash area).

In the off-leash area, they have staff to help supervise and assist which is great. They also require all dogs to be up to date on vaccines as well as requiring that all dogs be spayed/neutered (there’s a grace period for dogs under 1 year). You can submit documents online in advance, but you can also register at the door. Park 9 has a daycare services too, but we have not taken advantage of that yet. No dog? No problem! Park 9 is open to everyone even if you don’t have a pup.

Park 9 hosts numerous events, including breed-specific meetups. We’ve been to two Weenie Meetups there and it’s been such a great socialization experience. If you have a dog in the Boston area, it’s a must-visit.

Pro tip: Park 9 is an easy 5 minute walk, directly down the Northern Strand Community Trail (a great bathroom break spot too – complete with complementary poop bags), to Bone Up and Night Shift Everett – two very dog friendly breweries. Combining all three is a great way to spend an afternoon.
