I was excited about this visit because dad kept talking about how “Hill Farmstead is the GOAT,” but there were no goats. Not one. A total letdown. That said, Hill Farmstead is a great place for pups. They do not allow dogs inside the taproom (they do in the bottle shop), but the outdoor space is the best place to be. It’s a massive property with gorgeous views. It feels remote, tucked away on a dirt road, away from much else in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. There are great mountain views in the distance and there’s a lot of space to go for a walk and explore. It’s also easy to spread out and have space to yourself.
My posts are usually dog-centric, but it’s worth noting that Hill Farmstead is often considered to be one of the best breweries in the world. It’s worthy of the hype. Definitely have a few pours and take some cans and bottles home.
Hill Farmstead often has Food Trucks, but my humans say they can be inconsistent (and sometimes there isn’t one at all). They also sell snacks in the taproom. But if you’re really hungry, it’s best to bring something to eat from somewhere else. There’s not much in the immediate area, so stop before you get close!
Overall, Hill Farmstead one of the best brewery experiences you can have with a pup on a nice day. A great outdoor space with great views and some of the best beers in the world – what’s not to love?
Pro tip – Stop by Willey’s General Store in Greensboro, about 5 minutes from Hill Farmstead. They have some very good deli sandwiches as well as a limited selection of Hill Farmstead beers for sale. It’s a great Vermont country store experience.
